Various partnerships link the University Medical Centre Mannheim with other organizations in the field of health care, medical research and science: for example with the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, the Central Institute of Mental Health (ZI) and other hospitals in Mannheim, the University of Mannheim and Heidelberg University, as well as Mannheim University of Applied Sciences.
The German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) is located in Heidelberg and one of the largest biomedical research institutes in Germany.
The Zentralinstitut für Seelische Gesundheit (Central Institute for Mental Health) specializes in research, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of mental illnesses.
